Through the Prayers of our Holy Fathers...

Today, we commemorate the Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council (aka the Council of Nicea). This council established as part of the doctrine of the Church the teaching that Jesus Christ is "true God of true God" and "Begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father." The Fathers also condemned the Arian heresy. I thank God for these courageous men. We Christians are forever in your debt!
